International Student Awarded In AIA Competition

The national final of the 11th AIA Quest for the Champion Communicator was held on 8th April in the academic hall of the Central University of Finance and Economics. Wang Bochao, student of the International School 2010 International Finance, was remarkable in the competition and won the Award of Merit.

This competition had attracted 18 students from many universities of renown, including Tsinghua University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Northeast University of Finance and Economics, Sun Yat-sen University, and Hong Kong Baptist University. The competition consisted of speeches in Chinese and in English - contestants were required to elaborate on their views within five minutes, on specified topics in both Chinese and English, and to answer questions from the panel of judges.

Contestants from Hong Kong Baptist University, Shanghai University, and Central University of Finance and Economics were winners of the first, second and third prizes. There were also five prizes of merit.

The AIA Quest for the Champion Communicator was held by the Association of International Accountants (AIA), catering to university students from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan areas. It aims at encouraging students to improve their English and Mandarin Chinese, and to enhance their overall abilities to express, communicate, speak, and debate. This was the sixth time that our school had been invited to this competition, and each time we managed to achieve excellent results.
