The school of arts was authorized by the degree committee of the state council to offer first –level MA program in musicology in 2006 and to administer first-level musicology and dance MA program in 2011.In recent years, fruitful research results have been achieved in popular music, Jiangxi folk music and management of music and art education, as is testified by the publication of academic papers authored by faculty members in this program in some prestigious national journals such as People’s Music. A strong team of academic research with its own characteristics has been established .The team is composed of the following : Professor Fang Baozhang, PhD, research focus:management of music and art, history of Chinese music, chair professor of JXUFE and eminent professor in Jiangxi. Zhou Lihong, associate professor, research focus, history of Chinese music, national musicology(pop music culture), member of standing committee of Jiangxi music association Professor Chen Hong, research focus, vocal performance art, vice chair of Jiangxi vocal association ,executive director of Jiangxi choir association. Zhang Jigang, associate professor, research focus, national music ( Jiangxi folk music culture), member of research institute of Chinese national music text books. Wang Lin , associate professor, research focus, vocal performance art.member of the standing committee of Jiangxi vocal association.。 LI Shuang, associate professor, research focus, management of music art Fan Fenglon, associate professor, ( currently PHD student at China Conservatory) research focus, national musicology, vocal performance art. Han Yupeng, associate professor, research focus, vocal performance art, member of the standing committee of the vocal association under Chinese musician federation Kong xiaofei, associate professor, research focus, musical instrument performance,(brass ).
